Well I know it has been a little bit since posting new ATC cards but I think I suffered from a burn out (uugghh) and then my tastes of what I collect has changed too.

This group though was for the ATC for All "Vintage Black and White Swap" and Vintage cards are among my very favorite, the others being Oz, cards involving men, fairies and fashion.

Anyhow I used construction paper, bits of an Antique book, pearls, satin ribbon and decoupage elements to make these cards. It was nice getting back into the grind.

Vintage looking transparancies

Well I finally had the chance to play with transparencies and let me tell you I loved the concept, it seemed to open a new door to a whole new dimension in art. Thanks Corrie for the images to do them.

This set was actually for a private swap I did so I have to report they are gone already. I have also noticed that my "Eye for ATC's" has grown and i really love the vintage looking cards and of course cards relating to the Wizard of Oz (big surprise there--not)

Anyway the cards used acrylic paints in the backgroud, antique book page accents, those photo-corners that everybody used years ago and of course the transparencies.

The following is currently on E-bay for sale-- a first attempt at selling my work online.

Direct from the Artists Studio in Ohio this One Of A Kind Wizard of Oz Altered Art piece. The picture measures 11x 14 and contains Antique book pages over 90 years old, antique stamps 9 of them total and will never be reproduced again.

Quality Archival papers Antique lace which in the photogrpah does not really show up, the Wizard of Oz image of Dorothy, Tinman and Scarecrow.

The entire thing is sealed in Modge Podge Gloss Lustre by Plaid and then sprayed with A Clear finish by Krylon. Sides of the piece are gallery wrapped, so the papers continue around the sides so this piece does not need framed. Back is covered in quality brown paper and has a brass hanger and is ready to hang in your home.

Piece is signed and dated by the artist and comes in a shipping box. WIsh me good luck :)

Well gang I have finally really done it---NUDE woman, not bad if I do say so myself. Little did this gay boy know he had it in him . I think over all they are very tasteful and well done if I do say so myself.

They are all hand drawn and i used stamp pads, acrylics paints and ink to do them.

They are available for trading. I would be looking for either Vintage looking cards, Wizard of Oz or Judy Garland inspired cards in return. I do hope you enjoy them as as much as I did making them.

U- Z Last of the OZ Alphabet

Well gang it has taken some time but this is the last post of the Oz Alphabet cards I did for the Everything Oz group swap we are hosting. I really do hope that those of you that visit this blog have enjoyed them and that their owners will love them just as much.

With that said lets get into the cards--who they are, and how I did them.

U is is for Ureatha . She is a princess under a spell if I remember right and under that spell isa flying garden. Any way she is handrawn like all the others I have posted here and is done in water colors, markers, colored pencils and ink. She is one of those charactors that stick in your mind and maybe its the "goofy" story line or maybe its that oddball name either way, I just think she is a trip.

Well V is another great charactor from the books and a great play on words his name is Vaga the Vagabound, and while right now I can not remember which book he is from he was another awesome naemd chactor that just stuckl with me. All of these charactors can be found in a comprehensive book called "The Who's Who of Oz" by Jack Snow and some of the illustrations are in it.

He was hand drawn and done with water colors, markers, colored pencils and ink. I htink for me the other thing I love about this charactor is just the way Neill drew him and I tried to achieve by lloking at the pictures in the books. In many ways it would be neat to have a vagabound off traveling gypsies come visit every now and then.

Well W is a very intersting creature indeed and he is the Woozy. He comes from this great story from the "Patchwork Girl of Oz" I believe were they are trying to break a spell and they need three hairs froma tail of a Woozy to help break the spell. ANy how this creature is made entirelyof block shaped body parts and what is really neat about him is when he gets mad he spits fire!

Again a hand drawn card with water color paints, colored pencils, ink, majic markers

X was one of the cardest cards I did and it isn't so much how I did the card but just coming up with an idea---for me was the worst of it and is one of ONLY 2 cards that were not fully hand drawn. Maybe I can be forgiven for that one later one.

X is for X-tra special friends, X-tra fun, X-tra love and X-tra stories. The X's were these gelatin style stickers while the back ground is water color paint and markers primarily. The Wizard Of Oz X is newsprint frrom a desk calender I had and is modge podged on the card. It was skill wise on of the easier cards I did int he series .

Y is Mrs. Yoop wife of Mr. Yoop both of whom are in the books and both of whom are giants in the books. Beyond my memory is failing but may have to drag out the book to remember more of both of them. She in in "T inman of Oz" that much I am sure about.

She is hand drawn, colored pencils, water color paints,ink and this antique looking gold stickers in some of the corners just make this one a little different than all the others.

And finally Z--the very last in this series and she is Zelda, I can not remember right either which story she is from but she is hand drawn, water color paint, colored pencils, ink and embossing powder.

Again I hope you have enjoyed this BIG series it was a lot of work but it was also a whole bunch of fun.

Oz Alphabet Q-T

I know it has been a little bit since posting but I have been under the weateher but want to finish out this Oz Alphabet as I have other cards to share with all of you as well..

So with that said lets get into the cards--who they are and what I did to make them. Card "Q" in the series is for Queen Cor and she was done in colored pencils, majic markers, wwater colors, ink and embossing powder. I just happen to love how the background turned out on this one. She is from I think "Rinkitink in Oz" which we will get to in just a second. Of course all of these cards were hand drawn using the illustrations from the Oz books.

I guess also a reminder this whole series was done for an online Yahoo Group I belong to called "Everything Oz" and we will get a full set of cards back from various artists in the group.

King Rinkitink is my "R" card and he rides around on a goat because he is so portly . Again this card is a combination of water color paints, colored pencils, majic markers and ink of course he is from the book that shares his name, which much feel awfuly good.

S is of course one of the main charactors from the books and of course most of all the Oz movies made, the beloved Scarecrow. He is one of my absolute favorite cards I did in this series and he was done in watercolors, colored pencils, majic markers and ink. Those fine line were done with a fine link marker and a ruler for guidance. 109 years these charactors have been around and so many of them are just as fresh and alive as they were then.

Well unto T which is one of Dorothy's best friends in the books a little girl named trot who also has her own adventures with her beloved Capt'n Bill. Trot of course with Capt,n Bill move to Oz in one of the books and she because a princess--my kind of story. Anyhow she is also done in water colors, majic markers, ink, colored pencils and this time I used brads as accents to give some variety to how the card looked overall.

I really do hope you are enjoying the series only a few more letters to go....

Oz alphabet M-P

Well gang here is M- P in the Oz Alphabet series I did for the "Everything Oz" Yahoo Group I belong to. I will get a whole set back and from different artists. My set were again all based on John R. Neill's original drawings--Poppy however the idea for that card came from a Nippon Plate I have with that design on it.

They all are hand drawn by me so my versions of those Neill drawings and I used water color paints, magic markers, colored pencils, brads-- in the Ozma piece, embossing powder in the N is for Nikko the Flying monkey piece. The M card is for Mombi the Witch of Oz and is one of my favorite cards. Hopefully you all are enjoying them too.

Well continuing on the theme of the Oz Alphabet the next in the series is Prince Inga of Penigree . This charactor is in "Rinkitink of Oz" by L. Frank Baum. The card is majic markers, colored pencils, watercolors and ink.

Well this wonderful fellow is Jack Pumpkin Head and he was brought to life by a boy named Tip (who was Ozma under a spell--its a long story) a story you will have to read--have to check my books to see which one but he was done in Magic markers, colored pencils, ink, water colors and acrylic paint

Well this dashing fellow is actually King Kitticutand he is introduced in "Rinkitink of Oz" and he is water colors, colored pencils, ink, magic markers and embossing powder.

This adorable little creature is the Lavender Bear and she is from "The Lost Princess of Oz" I used water colors, colored pencils, magic markers and ink.

Oz alphabet Cards E-H

Well E is Eureka, Dorothy's Pink kitten in the books and is done in watercolors, ink, majic markers and I think one of the cuter cards in the series.

F is the Frogman of Oz

and he is also done in watercolors, colored pencils, majic markers and ink and is one of the more fun charactors in the books.

G is for the nasty ole Gnome King of Oz and he is done all in colored pencils, ink and markers. He hates eggs according to the books so be careful everybody and don't tell him tomorrow is Easter

H is for the Hungry Tiger of Oz and he is done in watercolor paints, colored pencils, markers, inks and acrylic paint. He always wants a nice plump baby to eat but can never get himself to eat one once he gets one

An Oz Alphabet A- D

Well the next few posts are going to be the ATC Cards i made for the "Everything Oz" Yahoo Group I belong to. The idea was to make a card for each letter of the alphabet using things found in or related to The Wizard of Oz.

Mine are for the most part all hand drawn based on drawings by John R. Neill the illustrator for nearly all the books. Water color paints, markers, colored pencils, brads, embossing powders, acrylic paint and ink.

A is for Adrian--the man behind all those incredible costumes in the Wizard of Oz. this was a collage involving a copy of a photo, newsprint, water color paints, brads and plastic over the top that doesn't really show up in the scan of the card.

B is for Billina the yellow hen of Oz- she is in a few of the Oz books and her chicks are all named Bill or Billina . Colored pencils, water color paints and ink make up this card.

C is for Cowardly Lion which is one of my all time favorite characters. Feel like I relate to him in so many ways. My favorite scene is him getting his permanent.

D is for Dorothy of course. The drawing is based on John R. Neill's and not the MGM movie I wanted something different and hopefully unique. In the books of course Dorothy becomes a princess. Can I have a job like that?

Sometimes the unexpected happens and when it does I am one of those people who take things very personally and very close to heart.

A friend of ours just lost her husband to lung disease yesterday. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. While we knew Larry was ill none of us so this coming so quickly. So today i sat and made this card for his wife Judy.

The flowers in the middle is one of my favorite rubber stamps. It's colored with colored pencils and markers while the rose colored paper is Velvet paper, antique lace and satin ribbons all mounted on card stock. In the scan the ribbon is a little out of proportion but out of the envelope and away from my scanner it is three-dimensional.

Thetheme for this swap was charactors from the comic books called "The Sandman" and since I have never read the comic books I went with drawings that I felt showed the "emotions" of the names of those charactors, hopefully the hostess of this swap and the people who get the cards will understand why I did what I did and enjoy them.

This is a warning that this post is ATC cards that are Adult in Nature and not to be viewed by ANYONE under the legal age.

With that said this set is part of a set of cards I am doing for my very first "ATC's For All" Group the swap is called "Potentially Offensive Male Nudes". I chose the theme because Male ATC cards are a rare thing or at least in my opinion and male nudes are even rarer. The idea was any medium done any way you saw or see the male nude. There will be more in the next couple of days as the goal for me is to have one card for everyone who signed up for this swap--so they all have a piece of my art work.

The first crad is a collaged piece with news print and uses words to describe men or at least some men-- I have one other card that has been posted in my "ATC's For all Gallery" http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/member.php?u=2756 and one member of the group commented it was very Robert Mapplethorpe in style--I am quiet flattered. The other three in this post are all hand drawn using colored pencils. As a gay man I find men and in particular naked men very appealing to the eye and I see men as sex symbols, figments of erotic dreams and I hope that never changes.

Again if this is not your "cup of tea" be warned....

Collaged Sunset

These cards were done a few daysa go for a swap with the ATC's For All and the theme was "Collaged Sunset" I used Mulberry aper, paper, newsprint, Modge Podge, and embossing powder to ge the cards done.

The last card in this set was a Random Act of Kindness Hostess gift.... I used an antique book page, stamp pads and a hand drawn element that used colored pencils, and VArnish to finish it all off.

These cards were for a theme swap "Valentine's For All Ages" and I have to say of the four the last two are my favorites--actually the one that was the hardest to give away was the very last one which is alos the host/hostess gift.

The first one the Modge Podge and tissue paper did not dry as clear as I had hoped and I lost alot of the words I had on this card--so I ended up calling it "Faded Love" if I remember right, as these lovelies are already in the mail.

Potentially Offensive??? Ample Floozie's

I know this is not everybody's cup of tea and near nudity and big bodacious woman for some are a turn off, but this gals are kind of fun in my opinon. If you find this offensive you may not wish to view or read at all, and may want to catch the next post.

Well I sat down and drew out the blonde in the lime green dress first, she was an attempt for the Hand Drawn Fantasy theme I am in at "ATC's For All" and it doesn't seem to fit th theme at all! Next thing I knew I had drawn the ALL three!!!

Well, anyway they are now their own set I call "Ample Floozie's" --well because of the "gifts if you will".

The blonde in the lime Green is Big Bertha. The one mooning gal is caled Fantastic Fran and the last is called Bodacious Bernadette. They are all hand drawn and I used ink, morker, colored pencil and while Bertha and Fran are Emobossed Bernadette has tisue and Modge Podge to give her that Come Hither look.

Second Nuaghty card

Well gang here it is the second in my "Naughty Series" I titled it " You Say That Like It Is a Bad Word". This one pushes the enevelope a little more and the photograph of the man in the tutu was a postcard I bought some years back on vacation in SanFrancisco in the Castro District.

I used words that one may here in ones lifetine as a gay person, some very direct, some offensive and a few four letter words. I realize that this may not be everybody's cup of tea but I find it is part of life as many of us know it.

I have been in an odd mood as of late and feel many times like i have little or no voice, words seems to be the one thing i am always looking for. Describe where I am, who I am, what I am and what I think, feel and want to say.

I used the man even though he is dressed like a BIG ole sissy he shows incredible strength and hopefully that is one of my biggest attributes--my personal strength.

I know there will be more with this type of theme to come and hopefully I don;t offend all my readers away.

Travel The World

This set was for ATC's for All and the Theme was "Travel the World". I had some difficulty coming up with ideas for this one so by the end of it i may have stretched the theme some.

The first one I called "Passport To the World" and I used Old Postage stamps from around the world along with newsprint as the base. Than Tissue Paper, rubber stamp pads and a marker for the border.

The second one in this set is simply called "San Francisco" and was a postcard I had from a vacation there simply cut it apart in vaying sized and shapes collaged it back to gether to give it this abstract look and again Tissue paper and Modge Podge. Its the famous Row House shot that is used alot when people think San Franciso.

The third one is my twist on a famous painting and right now I can not remember who te heck it is. It is hand drawn and I used magic markers, rubber stamp ink, rubber stamp words and pen to do this. I call it "Parisian Lovers" Again you may notice with a somewhat gay theme behind it.

The last is my hostess gift or RAK (Random Act of Kindness" this is also hand drawn with colored pencils and charcoal and I call it "Chicago My Kind of Town" I guess I based this one the movie Chicago and Roxie Hart.

SEX ATC

Well I decided today to do some very blatent homoerotic ATC cards---this is the first very "soft core" if you will. Its newsprint and tissue paper in a collage the tissue paper gives it that softer more romantic feel to it even though I call this piece "Sex Between Men". Hope you all like--working on another which should be finished in a day or two

Angel swap cards

Well gang I know it has been a little bit since doing a post but I guess my crafting time was hard to come by the last few days. However I do have new cards to share for the ATC's For All Swap I am doing with the them of "Angels". Any kind of angels but now that I have mine done I am worried they are not angel like and more like fairies--I guess I will let you decide.

I made angels the way I see them or want to see them, I also guess they are the type of angels I want watching over me no matter what. Men have played such a role in my life--friends, acquaintances, lovers, boyfreinds, buddies and even my brother.

I used newsprint, watercolor paints, tissue paper, coffee filters, paper towels, antique page from a book, rubber stamps, stickers, embossing pwder, varnish, coallged crowns, Japanese Rice Paper and ink to make these. Hope you like them

ATC trip to Oz and more

Ok the first set of 5 ATC cards was done for the "ATC Newbie's Group on Yahoo that I belong to this was also the very first swap that I HOSTED!! It was so much fun seeing everyone's cards and then picking my favorites. My cards were inspired by the original drawing done in the Wizard of Oz books. Mine are hand drawn, colored with marker and lined in ink. I than embossed them all which I think gave tham all a very unique look.

The last card posted here is the hostess Random Act of Kindness (RAK) that I mnade for the Retro Housewife swap. The scan did not turn out as nice as the actual card but hopefully my hostess will love it.

This trio was done for ATC's for All and the "Retro housewife Swap". The cards were made from Watercolor paints, tissue paper, paper towels, coffee filters, vintage lace, hand drawn elements, collage elements, Vintage Barbie drawings, markers, ink and varnish to seal everything.

Two of them are faceless as when I was doing them I kept thinking that woman of the 1940- early 1960's didn't really have their own identity--they were someones wife, someones mom, the dress they wore, the activities they were involved in and they not much more than those things. Woman today are different than those "stereotypes" of the retro housewife. Will have to post the added bonus card for my hostess later as I am still working on it. Hope you enjoy these though!

This set was made exclusively for the Warm Coloour's trade for ATC's For All. Personally I think these are some of the best ones to date and are going to be very hard to give up.

I used rubber stamped images, coffee filters, tissue paper, paper towels, brads, antique book page, rubber stamp ink, and varnish. The two faced one was made for the swell hostess of this swap and I called "Faces of Angels".
